The Role

The Community Development Officer role is the key interface and primary contact between Council, committees of management and community groups and will actively support their operations.

As a member of the Community Development team, this role supports community engagement fostering strong and valued relationships with an ever-increasing range of volunteers, clubs and associations.

A key deliverable of the role is administering Council’s community grants program, offering advisory support around processes, and supporting applicants in putting forward effective applications to gain funding and support for identified needs.

About you

To be successful in this position you will have relevant experience in the provision of community development programs and projects in a local government setting. With a passion for strengthening communities, you have a good understanding and knowledge of leases, licences and user agreements related to the management and operation of community facilities. Ideally you will hold a tertiary qualification in social science, community development or other related field, or have relevant experience in program development and community development practice.
