The Role
The Economic Development Officer will play a key support role in facilitating local events and economic initiatives across Moorabool Shire. Your primary responsibility will be assisting with the approval processes for event and film permit applications, ensuring smooth coordination between Council and community organisers. The role also supports the delivery of actions from the Economic Development and Visitor Economy Strategies and contributes to the implementation of strategic projects that promote local business activity and regional growth.
This is a part-time, fixed term role until August 2026 working Wednesday to Friday.

About You
You’re a confident and approachable communicator who enjoys supporting others and making processes easier to navigate. You thrive in roles where relationship-building is key, and you’re comfortable engaging with a wide range of stakeholders—from internal teams to community members and local businesses. You bring a proactive mindset to your work, with the ability to manage competing priorities and provide clear, timely support for event and film permit applications. Your experience in economic development, tourism, or business support helps you contribute meaningfully to strategic projects that strengthen the local economy.
