About the role

As our Financial Accountant you will play an important role in ensuring Council's ongoing financial sustainability. This role supports the Coordinator Financial Services to deliver the full range of accounting functions including providing strategic financial advice, budget support and analysis. You will be responsible for overseeing the purchase and payable teams, leading with integrity while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

There will be wide engagement with multiple internal/external stakeholders including government agencies and departments, auditors as well as financial institutions and statutory authorities. You will work proactively in achieving corporate objectives and organisational goals.

Desired Skills and Experience

About you

We are looking for an experienced Accountant with sound financial analysis and reporting skills. Knowledge and experience in Local Government will be highly regarded and CPA or CA membership is desirable.Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or relevant field are essential.
